Women Anti-Harassment Cell

The Women Anti-Harassment Cell of Asorphi Academy Higher Secondary School is a dedicated body established to ensure a safe, respectful, and supportive environment for all female students and staff members. The Cell works proactively to prevent harassment of any kind and to address grievances with fairness, confidentiality, and sensitivity.

Objectives

  • To create a campus free from gender-based discrimination, harassment, or any form of misconduct.
  • To provide a secure platform where students and staff can report incidents without fear.
  • To promote awareness regarding gender equality, respect, and dignity.
  • To take timely and appropriate action on complaints in accordance with school policies and legal guidelines.
  • To conduct workshops, counseling sessions, and awareness programs on student safety and women’s rights.

Functions of the Cell

  • Receive and address complaints related to harassment, bullying, or inappropriate behaviour.
  • Investigate reported issues through a fair, confidential, and unbiased process.
  • Recommend corrective action or disciplinary measures based on the findings.
  • Organize awareness activities such as seminars, interactive sessions, self-defense training, and sensitization programmes.
  • Counseling and support for affected individuals to ensure emotional and psychological well-being.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality to protect the identity and dignity of the complainant.

Composition of the Cell

The Women Anti-Harassment Cell consists of:

  • A Chairperson (senior female staff member)
  • Faculty representatives
  • A student representative (where appropriate)
  • A counselor or member trained in grievance redressal
  • Administrative support personnel

The team meets periodically and additionally as required to review cases and plan preventive initiatives.

Reporting Mechanism

Students and staff may report concerns through:

  • A written complaint submitted to the Cell
  • A designated complaint box placed within the school premises
  • Direct communication with any member of the Cell
  • Scheduled meetings or counseling hours

All grievances are handled promptly, respectfully, and confidentially.
